Welcome to Riley Elementary School!

Hello Riley Racers! I am Claire Marchese and I would like to welcome you to one of the finest elementary schools in the Vigo County School Corporation! It is an honor and a privilege for me to be the principal at Riley Elementary School.

I am blessed to have an amazing family. I have been married to my best friend, Neil, since 1976! I have a fantastic son, Stephen, a beautiful daughter-in-law, Darci, and two stellar grandsons, Max and Leo. I also have an amazing four-legged buddy named Jack.

I am delighted to say I have been the principal at Riley since 2010! Time flies! Prior to being an elementary principal, I taught eighth grade language arts and was assistant principal and principal of Chauncey Rose Middle School. I am very proud to work with our students and staff on behalf of the Vigo County School Corporation.

I am a lifelong resident of Terre Haute and spent my elementary and secondary school years in the Vigo County School System. I received a BA in English at DePauw University, my teaching license at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and my Masters and Administrators Licenses at Indiana State University. I feel the education I received has made me a lifelong learner!

I invite you on behalf of our entire school community to spend an exciting year filled with marvelous learning experiences at Riley. We are Riley Racers, ready to race through a great school year!
